New Deal Announcement
On 24th April 2015, my first fiction novel Don’t Turn Around was published. As I write this, I am thrilled to announce I’ve signed a new deal for my tenth and eleventh books. It only seems like yesterday that I was tapping away on my laptop on my daily train commute to my job in the police. Life since then has been a whirlwind of working and socialising and I’m still pinching myself. Recently, I was fortunate enough to attend Martina Cole’s anniversary & book launch party, where I met Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle in Emmerdale) amongst others. As a huge fan of both Martina and Jeff, it was a dream come true.
Of course, it’s not all parties and socialising. While on my night out, I was chatting with the lovely Casey Kelleher’s husband about her work ethos. I nodded my head in recognition as he spoke about her long working hours and days when he barely sees her due to impending writing deadlines. Mel Sherratt is another fantastic author who works incredibly hard. Writing for a living is a dream come true job, but it’s damned hard work when you’re producing two or more books a year. This leads me to the next step in my career. For the last two years, I have been writing three books a year in the form of crime thrillers for publishers Bookouture and psychological thrillers for Thomas & Mercer.
Now, with almost half a million sales under my belt, I am delighted to share that I am moving forward with Thomas & Mercer and have signed a two-book deal. My new thriller series featuring DI Amy Winter will be published in trade paperback, kindle and audio.
My first book in the DI Winter series will publish early 2018. While mourning the death of her Detective Superintendent father, DI Amy Winter receives a letter from prison which brings her world crashing down. Nicknamed the ‘Beasts of Brentwood,’ Amy’s biological parents are Britain’s most notorious serial killer couple. As she tries to close herself off from the horrific truth, Amy discovers the past is not done with her yet. Like all of my thrillers, this is a dark and creepy tale. I can’t wait to share it with you.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this new series. If you’d like to know more please join my reader’s club for news.
Signing with Thomas & Mercer has been a dream come true. I’m so grateful to my agent Madeleine Milburn and her team for striking me a fantastic deal and to my editor Jack Butler for signing me again. I’d like to give huge thanks to my previous publishers Bookouture and to the book bloggers and readers who have supported me along the way. Becoming established as an author is by no means a solo journey and I am truly grateful to them. I’m very excited about this next leg of my writing career and I do hope you will enjoy finding out more about DI Amy Winter when the time comes.
As you know, I like to end my news with a tip or two for the aspiring authors out there. Today my advice is to believe in yourself, constantly work on improving your craft and set yourself daily, weekly and monthly goals. In other words, keep going, because you never know where you will end up!
I’d love to hear from you. Comments and shares are welcome.
