Awesome options novel from ex-police detective turned best-selling crime author Caroline Mitchell
At Capital Crime, London’s festival of crime writing, Awesome Media & Entertainment Ltd. (Awesome) announces that it has optioned the media rights to crime-thriller TRUTH AND LIES, by New York Times best-selling author, and former police detective, Caroline Mitchell.
Published in 2018 by Thomas & Mercer, an imprint of Amazon Publishing, TRUTH AND LIES is the first installment in the DI Amy Winter thriller series. Author Caroline Mitchell has published 11 crime thrillers in total and all her books have become no. 1 bestsellers in their categories with over a million copies sold.
TRUTH AND LIES follows London Met detective, 33-year-old Amy Winter, who is the daughter of a husband-and-wife serial killer team imprisoned for a string of heinous killings years ago. When a teenage girl goes missing, Amy is forced to reconnect with her incarcerated mother Lillian in order to prevent another murder. She soon becomes entangled in her mother’s psychopathic game and must confront her own dark past in a race against the clock.
Since taking investment from Kew Media Group in 2018, Awesome has been focusing on high-end book-to-screen adaptations and is currently in production on the adaptation of Susan Hill’s novel THE SMALL HAND: A GHOST STORY starring Douglas Henshall for Channel 5 with its co-production partner, Two Rivers Media.
